Turquoise Luggage Tag

A London arrival transfer is one the key features potential Trafalgar Tours clients are looking for when planning their European vacation. As many of the flights into London from most countries are long haul and overnight, the last thing most people want to think about upon their arrival is how I get to my hotel.

London is a city with a population of some eight million people. It is congested at the best of times and for many above the ground, confusing to say the least. A taxi from Heathrow airport to the central part of London costs about 50-60 pounds, about US$100 and more if the traffic is heavy.

Do you really want to lug your suitcase and hand luggage through the London underground? As much as I love the London underground it can be problematic for the person who is tired from a long flight and does not know London. Even if you do arrive on the weekend when it is less busy there are stairs and obstacles along the way.

These are just some of the reasons Trafalgar Tours London transfer has become a cornerstone of the Trafalgar product starting in London. However if there was a weak link in the Trafalgar Tours product I would say it was the arrivals transfer. Although a great part of the product it has its problem.

Follow some simple rules which I have laid out here and or the same points outlined in the accompanying video and it will all go without a hitch.

1. Familiarise yourself with the first couple of vouchers in “Your Travel Documents”. It’s a red folder in your documentation wallet. They will pertain to the transfer and pre tour accommodation should your tour have this as part of the package.

2. Once you have collected your luggage from the baggage carousel in the Heathrow (or other Trafalgar Destination, Frankfurt, Rome etc.) arrivals hall. Attach the large orange Trafalgar tag you will find in your Trafalgar Tours documentation wallet to your suitcase. NOT BEFORE.

3. Immediately upon exiting the arrivals hall look for the Trafalgar representative who will be dressed in a turquoise uniform and will most likely be holding a large Trafalgar sign.

4. If the Trafalgar representative is not visible after a few minutes (don’t forget the reason they might not be there is they might be dealing with other Trafalgar clients) make your way to the Dot 2 Dot transfer desk. Here they will ask for the transfer voucher in your documentation folder.

5. After a short wait of 30-45 minutes you will board your mini bus transfer for your London hotel. There will probably be some other Trafalgar guests on the transfer to your or other hotels.

NOTE: It is imperative you give or your travel agent gives Trafalgar your flight information 2 weeks prior to travel. Even if you have booked your own flights and are arriving on the day the tour starts as per the itinerary, Trafalgar will transfer you to your London hotel.
